Today, the HACC's Appeals Chamber partially granted the defense's appeal but upheld the sentence handed to Mykhailo Holovko, former chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council.

The Appeals Chamber dropped from the charges the episode under Article 263(1) of the Criminal Code (illegal possession of 20 rounds of ammunition).

Mykhailo Holovko was taken into custody in the courtroom.

The HACC found Holovko guilty of bribery and illegal possession of ammunition a year ago, on June 18, 2025. According to investigators, between early March and June 2023, the then-chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council solicited and ultimately received a bribe of UAH 612,000 from the founder of a contracting company.
