On March 31, 2026, the HACC Appeals Chamber considered a motion filed by the defense counsel of Andrii Smyrnov, former Deputy Head of the Office of the President, seeking a change of jurisdiction in the criminal proceedings.

The panel of judges denied the motion and left the case with the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Andrii Smyrnov is charged with illicit enrichment in the amount of 15.7 million hryvnias, laundering of funds through the construction of residential properties in Odesa Region, and accepting a bribe offer of $100,000. According to the investigation, in exchange for the unlawful benefit the official facilitated a decision by the Antimonopoly Committee in favor of a specific construction company.
