HACC Appeals Chamber Refuses to Transfer Illia Vitiuk’s Case to Another Court

On October 14, 2026, the HACC Appeals Chamber heard a motion by the defense of Illia Vitiuk, former director of the SSU Cybersecurity Department, to change the jurisdiction of the criminal proceedings.

After deliberating, the panel of judges denied the motion and kept the case at the High Anti-Corruption Court.

The NABU and the SAPO have charged General Illia Vitiuk, former director of the SSU Cybersecurity Department, with illegal enrichment and false asset declaration. According to the investigation, in December 2023 Vitiuk bought a luxury apartment in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district for its actual price of UAH 21.6 million but registered it in his wife’s name at an understated contract price of UAH 12.8 million.
