The NABU and the SAPO have announced the exposure of a sitting MP for illicit enrichment of nearly UAH 13 million. According to Babel, the suspect is MP Oleksandr Kachnyi.

Investigators established that between 2020 and 2021, the MP acquired assets worth nearly UAH 13 million — far exceeding his officially declared income. The purchases included a cottage and land plot in Kobleve on the Black Sea coast, as well as a 132.6 sq. m. apartment in central Kyiv.

According to law enforcement, the design and renovation of the Kyiv apartment alone cost over UAH 5.5 million.

Kachnyi has been served a suspicion notice under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
