On May 15, 2025, the HACC Appeals Chamber partially granted the appeal filed by the defense attorneys of Mykhailo Yurkevych, former head of the Commercial Court of Lviv Region. The court reduced the bail amount to UAH 3 million.
The defense had appealed the HACC investigating judge’s ruling of April 15, 2025, which extended Yurkevych’s detention with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of UAH 6 million.
According to the investigation, former chairmen of the Commercial Court of Lviv Region, Vasyl Artymovych and Mykhailo Yurkevych, in collusion with former head of the Western Commercial Court of Appeal Borys Plotnytskyi, allegedly promised to deliver favorable court rulings in cases pending before the Western Commercial Court of Appeal. The case concerns a conflict between co-founders of the private medical laboratory Aesculab.
