The HACC sentenced Dina Pimakhova, former deputy head of the State Migration Service, to nine years in prison.

According to the investigation, in June 2017, while meeting with an acquaintance, she asked for a $1,800 bribe to process documents allowing a Vietnamese national to stay in Ukraine legally. Pimakhova received the money and then asked for another $30,000 to fast-track Ukrainian citizenship for an Iranian national on the supposed grounds of territorial origin.

The HACC sentenced Pimakhova to nine years’ imprisonment with confiscation of all her property. The court further imposed an additional penalty: a three-year ban on holding certain positions.
