Today, the former MP joined remotely saying that the session is organizational, so there was no need to appear in person. The judge argued that was the first time she heard anything about the "organizational session" and allowed the online format as an exception.
Andrii Odarchenko was put on the international wanted list because he fled Ukraine. The Prosecutor noted that the former MP crossed the Romanian border claiming that he was fleeing the war, without providing any identity card.
Odarchenko's defender filed a motion requesting to close the case due to the expiration of the pre-trial investigation period. However, the court dismissed the motion because it would not be considered at this stage of the case.
The prosecutor asked for 10 years in prison for Odarchenko instead of 8 years awarded in the first instance. She argued that the shorter term will not correct the accused and will not prevent new possible crimes.
