Ihor Kolomoiskyi, former ultimate beneficial owner of PJSC CB PrivatBank, and five members of the group he organized will stand trial. The NABU and the SAPO accuse them of misappropriating over UAH 9.2 billion in bank funds.
According to investigators, in 2015 Kolomoiskyi — then head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration — forced the bank to “buy back” its own bonds at an inflated price from an offshore company under his control. Over UAH 446 million of that amount was subsequently laundered through a chain of shell companies and reinvested in the bank's charter capital, increasing his stake.
