The SAPO and NABU have referred an indictment to court against former head of the Ternopil Regional Council and current council member Mykhailo Holovko. He is accused of submitting false asset declarations for 2022 and 2023 (Article 366-2(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, Holovko failed to declare the following:

  • an apartment of 201.9 m² used by his family;

  • funds held in a bank account;

  • non-residential premises (a parking space, car wash, and storage room) owned by his relatives.

The total value of undeclared assets exceeds UAH 2.2 million for 2022 and UAH 2 million for 2023.

Holovko is also a defendant in another corruption case. NABU and SAPO accuse him of soliciting and receiving a bribe. According to investigators, together with First Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Ihor Demianchuk and Deputy Head Ihor Haiduk, Holovko allegedly demanded more than UAH 2.4 million from a businessman and volunteer. The bribe was reportedly in exchange for signing construction and repair works acceptance certificates and repaying debts owed by the RMA for services completed back in 2022.
