On April 23, 2026, in the bribery case against former Deputy Energy Minister Oleksandr Kheilo, the prosecutor filed a motion to separate the materials relating to co-defendant Serhii Pylypchuk, a private energy trader, following the conclusion of a plea agreement with him.
The HACC granted the motion and separated Pylypchuk's case into distinct proceedings.
In May 2025, two other defendants — Serhii Kobyliatskyi and Yevhenii Lut — had already entered plea agreements.
According to the investigation, Kheilo — who was Deputy Energy Minister under Herman Halushchenko at the time of his arrest — conspired with Pylypchuk, former Selydvuhillia Director Serhii Kobyliatskyi, and Mykolaiv Electricity Supply Company head Yevhenii Lut to offer a $500,000 bribe in exchange for facilitating the transfer of mining equipment from Donetsk Region mines to coal enterprises in western Ukraine.
