The NABU and the SAPO have completed the pretrial investigation into former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna, who is suspected of illicit enrichment exceeding UAH 13.9 million and of false asset declaration.
According to investigators, the official owned two apartments in the Faina Town residential complex worth nearly UAH 11 million. The property was registered in the name of a friend.
Stefanishyna also used assets registered to people close to her, including:
- an apartment in the Lvivska Ploshcha business-class residential complex (registered to her mother);
- a Mercedes-Benz GLC 220 d (registered to a subordinate).
Investigators established that she did not declare this property.
The official also negotiated the purchase of a country house near Kyiv worth about USD 550,000. Under the payment arrangement, USD 250,000 was to be paid in cash, with the remainder covered by transferring the two Faina Town apartments to the seller. Stefanishyna ultimately backed out of the purchase, likely because of her move to a diplomatic post abroad.
The suspect’s lawful income could not cover such spending: from early 2024 to mid-2025, her official earnings came to about UAH 3.7 million, while cashless debits from her bank cards alone reached an estimated UAH 4.2 million.
