On June 16, 2026, the HACC Appeals Chamber ordered the in absentia pre-trial detention of former MP Yurii Ivaniushchenko.

The HACC had previously ordered Ivaniushchenko's in absentia arrest, but the Appeals Chamber overturned that ruling and remanded the prosecutor's motion for fresh consideration. On reconsideration, the investigating judge denied the motion. Today, however, the Appeals Chamber overturned that decision, granted the prosecutor's appeal, and issued a new ruling ordering Ivaniushchenko's pre-trial detention. The defense's appeals were denied.

The case concerns the alleged unlawful transfer of land belonging to the Stolychnyi market into private hands. The NABU and the SAPO suspect former MP Yurii Ivaniushchenko, developer Vladyslava Molchanova, private company head Yurii Tsvihun, lawyers Kostiantyn Balandin and Anton Arefiev, and former head of a regional office of the State Geocadastre Mykola Tereshchenko of involvement in a large-scale land seizure scheme.

In March 2026, the NABU petitioned the Security Service of Ukraine to apply sanctions against Ivaniushchenko. The SSU responded that the materials submitted by the NABU did not contain sufficient information establishing that Ivaniushchenko had caused harm to Ukraine's national security, sovereignty, or territorial integrity, and declined the request.
