A preparatory hearing in the case of oligarch Kostiantyn Zhevaho was scheduled for July 3, 2026, but neither the defendant nor his defense appeared. Zhevaho's lawyer submitted a motion to postpone.

Zhevaho is currently in Paris, where he has resided since 2019.

The prosecutor agreed that the hearing could not proceed without the necessary participants. The judge decided to send a letter to the bar association requesting that a different lawyer be appointed for Zhevaho.

The prosecutor also announced plans to file a motion to transfer the case to another court in order to consolidate it with a related case.

The next hearing is scheduled for July 9 at 12:00 p.m.

The NABU and the SAPO accuse oligarch Kostiantyn Zhevaho of paying then–Supreme Court Chairman Vsevolod Kniaziev a $2.7 million bribe for a court ruling favoring a company under his control. In exchange for the bribe, the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court was to overturn a ruling by the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal concerning his company, with Kniaziev tasked with ensuring that outcome.
