At today's hearing, the SAPO prosecutor set out the risks cited to justify a preventive measure for Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko (“the Muse”):

• Risk of absconding from the investigation and the court: Ivakhnenko had the means to leave Ukraine to evade responsibility.
• Risk of distorting items and documents: investigators have evidence that Ivakhnenko communicated with Kropyva about destroying documents, deleting social-media photos, “cleaning the phone,” and the like.
• Risk of unlawfully influencing witnesses: Ivakhnenko could help Kropyva unlawfully influence witnesses, among them people close to the Muse, including her parents.
• Risk of otherwise obstructing the criminal proceedings: investigators established that Ivakhnenko is personally acquainted with Kravchenko and his wife. She traveled to Madrid together with the Prosecutor General's wife, and so has close ties to people in government.
• Risk of committing another criminal offense: investigators have evidence that Ivakhnenko and Kropyva attempted another crime — distorting documents.

The SAPO prosecutor said no preventive measure milder than detention with a bail alternative could be applied to the Muse. Ivakhnenko was detained at the Lviv railway station on Friday, which investigators say may point to an attempt to flee Ukraine.

The prosecution asks that Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko be held in detention as a preventive measure, with the alternative of posting UAH 50 million bail.
