On August 4, 2025, the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed an interim measure on MP Oleksii Kuznietsov in the form of detention with an alternative of UAH 8 million bail.
If released on bail, the MP must surrender his international passport and comply with a number of other obligations.
The prosecutor requested detention with an alternative of UAH 30 million bail, citing the MP’s status, the significant amount of undue advantage involved, and various procedural risks. According to the investigation, the suspect received UAH 900,000 as a bribe — the money was found in his vehicle.
The defense argued that the proposed UAH 30 million bail was excessive and that the MP had strong social ties.
According to the investigation, MP Oleksii Kuznietsov, former head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration and later head of the Mukachevo District State Administration Serhii Haidai, head of the Rubizhne Military Administration Andrii Yurchenko, a National Guard unit commander, as well as the owner and director of a drone manufacturing company, entered into contracts for the supply of drones and electronic warfare equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine at inflated prices. Up to 30% of the contract value was returned to them as unlawful benefit. The total amount of damage could reach $81,000.
