On June 5, 2026, the HACC completed the preparatory proceedings in the case of former State Special Communication Services head Yurii Shchyhol and his associates, charged with embezzling UAH 62 million from the state budget through equipment and software procurement, and scheduled the case for trial.
The first preparatory hearing was held on July 29, 2025. Preparatory proceedings lasted over ten months in total, repeatedly stalled by defendants and their counsel failing to appear for various reasons.
The next hearing is scheduled for June 15.
Former Special Communication head Yurii Shchyhol, his deputy Viktor Zhora, and their associates are charged with misappropriating UAH 62 million in budget funds through the procurement of equipment and software.
