On January 8, 2026, the HACC completed the preparatory phase and scheduled the case against businessman Oleksandr Hlimbovskyi for consideration on the merits.

Following the preparatory hearing, the court ruled to:

  • conduct a trial in absentia with respect to another defendant, Oleksandr Kostenko, who at the time served as an adviser to former State Fiscal Service head Roman Nasirov;

  • hold the trial before a panel of judges and in open court;

  • partially grant the defense motion for temporary access to documents.

The defense also sought to lift the seizure of UAH 711 million imposed by a HACC investigating judge on funds held by Amtel Closed Non-Diversified Venture Corporate Investment Fund, owned by Hlimbovskyi. According to the defense, the seizure was imposed on funds that were not present in the account at the time, as the balance then amounted to only UAH 29,427,008. The defense argued that the funds were generated from lawful business activity. Specifically, apartment sales in the Terrakota residential complex, and were unrelated to the criminal proceedings.

The prosecutor objected, stating that the funds were obtained through criminal means and that the seizure was imposed to secure potential special confiscation. The court denied the motion to lift the seizure.

The case was referred to court in May 2025, meaning the preparatory proceedings lasted eight months.

According to the investigation, Hlimbovskyi, as the beneficial owner of the construction group Altis, allegedly facilitated the receipt by his son-in-law Roman Nasirov of part of a €13 million bribe and assisted in laundering these funds. Investigators further believe that the remaining €7.9 million was laundered by Oleksandr Kostenko through agency agreements and sale-and-purchase transactions.
