HACC Moved to the Merits Stage in Yaroslav Dubnevych’s Case

On February 17, 2026, the HACC ruled to close the preparatory hearing and schedule the trial on the merits in the case of MP Yaroslav Dubnevych.

The merits hearing will be conducted by a panel of judges in open court. The next hearing is scheduled for February 20, at 08:00.

The court also dismissed the defense motions to return the indictment and to request information from Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As reported earlier, the NABU and the SAPO accuse MP Yaroslav Dubnevych of organizing a gas-theft scheme with a total value exceeding UAH 2.1 billion. His actions are classified under Article 27(3) and Article 191(5), and Article 27(3) and Article 209(3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition to organizing the alleged theft scheme, Dubnevych is also suspected of laundering more than UAH 450 million through offshore accounts. The withdrawn money was then returned to Ukraine under the guise of foreign investment in projects in the Lviv region.
