On August 14, 2025, the HACC finished the preparatory hearing and appointed the case of embezzlement of PrivatBank’s UAH 8.4 billion for trial on the merits.
The court also dismissed a number of motions filed by the defense to absolve the accused, close the proceedings, and terminate the seizure of property. However, the court lifted the seizure on some phones and the laptop of the accused and partially granted the defense’s motion on temporary access to the items and documents of the National Bank and PrivatBank.
The case will be tried by a panel of judges. The next hearing is scheduled for September 25, 10:30 a.m. EET.
We remind you that the former management of PrivatBank allegedly withdrew UAH 8.4 billion from the bank ahead of its nationalization in 2016. According to the investigation, former chair of the board of PAT KB PrivatBank Oleksandr Dubilet, his deputies Volodymyr Yatsenko and Liudmyla Shmalchenko, as well as former heads of bank departments Nadiia Konopkina, Olena Bychykhina, and Nataliia Onyshchenko used various manipulations with fake loans and forged documents.
