Yesterday, the court granted the motion of the prosecutor to impose an interim measure on Kriuchkov in the form of indefinite detention.
Kriuchkov failed to appear at HACC court hearings 20 times in a row, while participating in appeal hearings and hearings in other criminal proceedings online.
During the entire period, more than 6 defense counsels were changed in the case, 4 of which were provided by the state free of charge.
Today, the defense counsel reported that Kriuchkov wanted to participate in the hearing, but was on sick leave. The former MP is accused of large-scale embezzlement of over UAH 1.5 billion at Cherkasyoblenergo and Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo enterprises (regional electricity distribution companies).
On October 3, 2024, the panel of judges of the HACC partially granted the motion of the SAPO prosecutor and put Dmytro Kriuchkov on the international wanted list, and later decided on hearing his case in absentia.
