First Preparatory Hearing Held in Vysotskyi Case

On April 29, 2026, the HACC held the first preparatory hearing in the case of former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotskyi, who currently serves as Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

At the hearing, defense counsel raised a number of complaints about the detective's conduct — including the submission of mutual legal assistance requests during a suspended investigation and the alleged untimely resumption of the pre-trial investigation following receipt of responses to those requests. The court granted the defense time to review the civil claim and adjourned.

According to the NABU and the SAPO, in 2022 Vysotskyi — then Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy — organized the procurement of food products for frontline territories at inflated prices, with the assistance of then-Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksandr Hryban. The case involves two episodes concerning the procurement of Polish and Turkish goods through controlled and intermediary companies, causing losses to the state of nearly UAH 64 million.
