The NABU and the SAPO have completed the investigation into the alleged abuse during the purchase of humanitarian aid for the frontline population.
According to the NABU and the SAPO, Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy, with the assistance of Oleksandr Hryban, Deputy Minister of Economy, allegedly purchased pasta for people in the frontline territories at prices three times higher at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The losses are estimated at almost UAH 64 million. The details of the incriminated scheme are explained here.
In August 2023, the defendants were served with suspicion notices, and the parties are currently reviewing the materials of the criminal proceedings. The case shall then be referred to the HACC for consideration on the merits.
