On September 16, the panel of judges of the HACC AC, consisting of Oleksandr Semennykov, Viktor Pankulych, and Dmytro Mykhailenko, left the interim measure imposed on the head of the AMCU Pavlo Kyrylenko unchanged. He was assigned UAH 30 million in bail; this money has already been paid.
The prosecutor asked to take Kyrylenko into custody with the right to post UAH 121 million in bail. However, she agreed that only bail would also suffice. The arguments included the fact that Kyrylenko had the connections to leave the country and could sign a permit for a business trip himself. Moreover, the investigation still hasn't found all of his property.
The defense counsel believes that the amount of bail is excessive for Kyrylenko and that the suspicion notice served to him is not justified. Defense attorneys disagreed with the prosecutor's risk assessment.
Interestingly, Kyrylenko was not wearing an electronic bracelet. It turned out that after he arrived at the police station, there were no free bracelets left.
