Today, the first hearing was held to review the appeals against the verdict in which the HACC found MP Anatolii Hunko guilty of incitement to bribery and fraud. Appeals were filed by both the prosecutor and the defense.

Before proceeding with the appeal review, the court considered and dismissed a motion for recusal of the judicial panel. The court also examined the prosecutor’s motion to extend the measures imposed on Anatolii Hunko for an additional two months.

The judges of the HACC Appeals Chamber granted the motion and extended the validity of the obligations imposed on the accused as part of the interim measure for two months, but no longer than until the verdict enters into force. In particular, Hunko is required to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet and comply with other court-imposed duties.

Following that, the court proceeded with the appeal hearing. The presiding judge delivered an opening statement and outlined the claims presented in the appeals filed by both the prosecution and the defense. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 2.
