On October 27, the HACC Appeals Chamber upheld the HACC verdict acquitting former Ukrzaliznytsia official Oleh Zolotariov of organizing procurement at inflated prices.
The court had acquitted him back in July 2026, finding that the elements of a criminal offense in his actions had not been proven.
During the trial at first instance, the prosecutor withdrew from the prosecution after receiving the results of a new expert examination. The representative of the injured party, Ukrzaliznytsia, nonetheless continued to pursue the prosecution.
As we reported earlier, the NABU and the SAPO originally charged the official with organizing procurement at inflated prices, which caused Ukrzaliznytsia UAH 9.6 million in losses.
