On August 19, the NABU and the SAPO served several individuals with notices of suspicion for misappropriation (embezzlement) of funds, raiding, document forgery, and interference with information systems.

The case concerns an alleged criminal organization led by a sitting and a former MP, whose members included senior officials of the Office of the President and others. According to investigators, its aim was the raiding of businesses and real estate.

In the recordings released by the NABU and the SAPO, there is talk of alleged document forgery — court rulings in particular — attempts to influence Ministry of Justice officials, arrangements with judges for special handling of certain bankruptcy cases, and deals with prosecutors and judges over asset seizures.

According to the NABU, in the fall of 2025 members of the organization unlawfully seized assets worth over UAH 248 million, and in May 2026 they attempted to seize real estate in Kyiv worth over UAH 207 million. There was also mention of assets in central Kyiv worth over UAH 500 million.

Investigators say the sitting MP bankrolled the scheme — at least $514,000 for hackers, litigation, and bribes.

The people in the recordings also complain that, unlike at the SBI or the National Police, it is impossible to get information out of the NABU or the SAPO. They disparage the SSU and the National Police, insisting that “if you catch a NABU case, you're out of options.” The substance of the conversations further indicates that those speaking are aware their actions are unlawful.
