On April 2025, the HACC continued to examine the evidence in the case of former Supreme Court Chairman Vsevolod Kniaziev. During the session, conversations recorded during secret investigative actions were played, likely between Horburov and Horetskyi.
The discussion centered around transferring a large sum of money: “I see your point, but such a large amount right before the event... can we ask them to wait a couple of weeks to a month?” In addition, the audio files discussed some details of the scheme and addressed organizational issues.
In another conversation, the amounts and “settlements” were directly discussed:
Horetskyi: This ten is no good here. Let's split it in two if you are fine with it.
Horburov: We have to give him five.
Horetskyi: And we need five too. What do you mean “split”? I'll give it all to him.
Horburov: I will need it there. You'll give me ten for now, I'll take it.
The following phrases were also mentioned: “I have 1950 now... I gave you 1.1 million after the session. You need to double-check.”
In response to these fragments, defense lawyers argued that the prosecutor is taking phrases out of context, and the identification of the voices remains questionable. However, the defense attorney admitted that these conversations involve Kniaziev. Kniaziev himself completely denies his involvement, although some of the recordings still mention his last name.
Vsevolod Kniazev is charged with receiving a $2.7 million bribe. According to investigators, Kniaziev, in collusion with notary Kyrylo Horburov and lawyer Oleh Horetskyi, orchestrated a scheme to receive bribes in exchange for favorable court decisions.
