On September 2, 2026, the HACC set bail of UAH 15 million as the preventive measure for Oleksii Stupak, chair of the Sense Bank management board.
If the bail is posted, he will be placed under a number of obligations:
- to appear on every summons from the detective, prosecutor, and court;
- to notify the investigator, prosecutor, or court of any change of residence or workplace;
- not to leave the city of Kyiv or Kyiv Region;
- to refrain from contact with the other suspects in the case and with witnesses, and from visiting the premises of Sense Bank, the National Bank of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service;
- to surrender his international passport;
- to wear an electronic bracelet.
At today's hearing, the defense stressed that the risks were unfounded. Defense counsel argued that the preventive measure the prosecutor is seeking — detention with the alternative of posting UAH 150 million bail — is excessive for the suspect, who has no such assets. The defense also submitted documents attesting to Stupak's character.
The suspect said he had committed no unlawful acts. When the money for Herman Halushchenko's bail was being collected, he was not in the country at all. So there is no evidence against him beyond conversations between third parties.
At the defense's motion, the court also questioned witness Serhii Bilozerov, a director of one of Sense Bank's departments. He was asked about technical work at the bank — in particular, about changes made to the software when bail payments were processed.
The defense also asked that Stupak be released on personal surety.
