On April 27, 2026, the HACC modified the interim measure against former State Fiscal Service head Roman Nasirov in the Bakhmatiuk bribery case, reducing his bail from UAH 55 million to UAH 27.5 million. The remaining funds will be returned to the guarantors.
The court stated that this amount is sufficient to ensure Nasirov's compliance with his procedural obligations.
The defense had requested that the interim measure be replaced entirely with a personal recognizance, since Nasirov is already serving a sentence in a pre-trial detention facility in a separate case — his conviction in the gas scheme of former MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko. Defense counsel also announced plans to file a cassation appeal against that verdict.
The prosecutor opposed the bail reduction, arguing that it pertains solely to the bribery proceeding and that the panel is not obliged to take into account Nasirov's imprisonment in the other case. Despite his detention, the prosecutor maintained that the risks to the criminal proceeding remain.
Previously, the court granted a defense motion to keep Nasirov at the Kyiv Pre-Trial Detention Facility until the conclusion of the bribery case.
Former SFS head Nasirov is charged with accepting a UAH 722 million bribe for VAT refunds to agricultural companies owned by businessman Oleh Bakhmatiuk. His father-in-law, businessman Oleksandr Hlimbovskyi, is charged with laundering the proceeds.
