The High Anti-Corruption Court has begun hearing the motion on a preventive measure for former deputy head of the Office of the President Iryna Mudra. She is one of the key figures in the recent NABU and SAPO operations.

At the start of the hearing, the defense announced two motions. The first sought to hold the proceedings behind closed doors, on the grounds that they would disclose details of Mudra's private life and health, which had reportedly worsened amid the recent events. The HACC investigating judge denied it, proposing instead that the parties refrain from fully disclosing the circumstances of her illness or her personal data.

The defense then asked to adjourn the hearing — again citing the suspect's deteriorating health and insufficient time to prepare its position. The investigating judge granted the motion in part: only the prosecutor will present his position today, while the defense will do so on August 24.

The defense next filed a motion for temporary access to items and documents, along with a motion for a ruling that would establish a violation of the presumption of innocence with respect to Mudra. It concerns promotional videos and news reports about Operation Forrest Gump, which cited the suspect's post as deputy head of the Office of the President and set out the circumstances of the case in a tone asserting that Mudra had committed a crime. The court decided to consider this motion on its merits in the deliberation room, together with the motion on the preventive measure.
