On April 15, 2026, the HACC investigating judge partially granted a motion by the defense of MP and suspect Yuliia Tymoshenko, who is charged with offering unlawful benefits to fellow members of parliament.

The judge modified her obligation to surrender her international passport, allowing its temporary return for an official trip abroad from April 27 to May 3, after which she must surrender it again.

The defense argued that the obligation to remain in Ukraine is no longer warranted, given that the pre-trial investigation has been completed and NABU has gathered all necessary evidence.

Tymoshenko stated that the trip is of exceptional importance — the event will bring together representatives of 65 countries, and she will have the opportunity to contribute to the negotiation process. On that basis, she asked for the travel restriction to be lifted altogether.

The prosecutor opposed the motion, noting that the question of travel abroad had already been resolved in the investigating judge's ruling when the preventive measures were originally set.

As reported earlier, the case concerns the alleged offer of unlawful benefits to members of parliament in order to influence the outcomes of parliamentary votes.
