On March 13, 2026, an investigating judge of the HACC granted the prosecutor’s motion to extend for two months the term of the procedural obligations imposed on suspect Yuliia Tymoshenko. Specifically, she is required to:

  •  Appear when summoned by NABU detectives, SAPO prosecutors, or the court

  •  Notify the authorities of any change of residence

  • Surrender her international passport.

At the hearing, the prosecutor stressed that the suspicion was well-grounded and that risks to the criminal proceedings remained. He also said the pre-trial investigation body needed more time to carry out all necessary procedural steps and expert examinations. According to the prosecutor, these obligations are effective and do not place an undue burden on the suspect.

The defense opposed the motion. They believe that the risks cited by the prosecutor do not exist, and the need to impose these obligations is unfounded. According to defense counsel, Tymoshenko’s conduct has been “crystal-clear in its good faith.”

Tymoshenko herself once again said that the judge was “rubber-stamping unlawful decisions.” In response, the judge reprimanded the suspect for contempt of court. Tymoshenko then stated that it had been a “terrible mistake to vote for NABU, SAPO, and HACC” and called them a “cancerous tumour.” The judge issued another reprimand after that. Tymoshenko also complained that she was being accused of receiving an undue advantage, even though no such fact had been documented. In response, the investigating judge noted that Tymoshenko’s actions had been classified as an offer of an undue advantage.

Earlier, in January 2026, the HACC set bail for Tymoshenko at UAH 33.3 million and imposed procedural obligations on her. Later, the HACC Appeals Chamber overturned the investigating judge’s ruling and issued a new one, refusing to impose the obligations not to leave Kyiv and Kyiv region and not to communicate with Members of Parliament, so as not to interfere with her parliamentary and party activities.

As reported earlier, the NABU and the SAPO served a notice of suspicion on Yuliia Tymoshenko, Head of the Batkivshchyna parliamentary faction in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the matter concerns an alleged offer to provide an improper benefit to Members of Parliament of Ukraine in order to influence the outcomes of parliamentary votes.
