HACC finds MP Anatolii Hunko guilty

On March 25, 2025, the HACC found MP Anatolii Hunko guilty of inciting a bribe and committing fraud.

The convict was sentenced to seven years in prison, with confiscation of all property and a three-year ban on holding public office or civil service positions.

The interim measure in the form of a UAH 7.5 million bail was upheld. The HACC also ordered Hunko to wear an electronic bracelet and imposed other interim measures.

According to the prosecution, in 2023, Hunko and his accomplices deceived a representative of an agricultural company. They offered him the use of 1,700 hectares of land from the state enterprise of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. For this land, they demanded $130 per hectare, totaling $221,000. Of this amount, the company's representative had to transfer $85,000 in advance, before the start of land cultivation.

Hunko intended to misappropriate the company representative's money. The MP was detained while receiving the $85,000 advance.
