On April 29, the HACC Appeals Chamber upheld the interim measure of detention with the possibility of release on bail set at UAH 75.7 million for MP Viktor Bondar.
The panel of judges of the HACC Appeals Chamber considered the appeal filed by Bondar’s defense against the decision of the investigating judge of the HACC dated April 8 and denied the request.
It was on April 8 that the HACC investigating judge reduced the MP’s bail to UAH 75.7 million; previously, it had been set at UAH 100 million.
According to the investigation, in 2021, MP Viktor Bondar and several accomplices organized a scheme to supply cables to Ukrzaliznytsia at inflated prices, resulting in losses of over UAH 140 million to the company. His actions were qualified under Article 27, Part 3 and Article 191, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
