Today the HACC considered a motion by the SAPO prosecutor and ordered the compelled appearance of witness Nataliia Matiienko — the mother of the defendant, Alla Kyrylenko. She is charged with aiding and abetting the UAH 72 million illicit enrichment of her husband, AMCU head Pavlo Kyrylenko.

Nataliia Matiienko once again failed to appear at the hearing and did not inform the court of the reasons for her absence. The prosecutor moved for a compelled-appearance order against her.

The court noted that Matiienko had been summoned four times for questioning as a witness but had not appeared at a single hearing or responded to any of the summonses.

The defense, for its part, said it was impossible to secure the attendance of both witnesses at once — Nataliia Matiienko and her husband, Oleksandr Matiienko — since one of them has to stay with the Kyrylenkos' young children.

The court ultimately granted the prosecutor's motion.

A similar situation arose with Alla Kyrylenko's father, Oleksandr Matiienko. The court eventually ordered his compelled appearance as well, and his questioning was completed today. At that time, the defense argued that Nataliia Matiienko was in inpatient treatment while Oleksandr Matiienko was caring for the grandchildren.
