Today, at the HACC hearing, the defense's request to reduce the bail for the accused developer, Serhii Kopystyra, was considered. His defense lawyer, among other things, presented an interesting argument: “So that after today's hearing, Kopystyra would leave with a smile, in a good mood, and displaying proper procedural behavior.”
The defense requested a reduction of the bail from UAH 100 million to UAH 14 million, arguing that the risks cited by the prosecutor in the criminal proceedings are no longer relevant. They also stated that the funds deposited for bail, provided by the accused's father and FC OSNOVA LLC, are needed by the legal entity for construction purposes. In addition, the defense insisted on reducing the bail for Kopystyra's accomplice, Sushon, from UAH 1.5 million to UAH 1.2 million.
After considering the above evidence, the HACC decided to reduce the bail for Serhii Kopystyra to UAH 89 million and for Alla Sushon to UAH 1.4 million.
It is worth reminding that Serhii Kopystyra is accused of offering a kickback to Oleksandr Kubrakov, who was the Minister of Community Development at the time. The case involves the transfer of 2% of the area of a future residential complex (approximately 4,200–4,900 square meters), which was planned to be built on a land plot owned by the ministry.
