Case description
On March 30, 2023, the HACC found MP Iryna Konstankevych guilty of false declaration of a rented apartment worth about UAH 2.5 million. She was fined, but the case was closed because the statute of limitations had expired.
Iryna Konstankevych is a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII and IX convocations, a member of the Party for the Future parliamentary group.
In the 2020 declaration, Konstankevych did not indicate an apartment in one of the central districts of the capital worth about UAH 2.5 million, which she rented during 2020–2021. In court, Konstankevych stated that she used the apartment very little at first, and later did not use it at all, which is why she decided not to declare it. Her husband filed the declarations on her behalf, so she did not know all the technical details of the process.
The actions of Konstankevych were classified under Article 366-2, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and fined her UAH 44,000 with a ban on holding certain positions for a year.
Subsequently, the HACC Appeals Chamber overturned the first instance verdict and closed the case due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
