Case description
On November 16, 2023, the HACC acquitted Vasyl Nevolia, head of the Interpol Bureau in Ukraine, who was accused of false declaration. The court's decision will be appealed.
The NABU-SAPO suspected Vasyl Nevolia of lying in his 2020 declaration. Namely, he failed to include his daughter’s apartment in Kyiv and his wife's apartment in the Kyiv region in the declaration.
The HACC acquitted him since the prosecution had not provided sufficient evidence indicating that Nevlia indeed had lived with his wife and used the daughter’s apartment.
Nevolia was charged with Article 366-2, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The HACC acquitted him but the SAPO later filed an appeal against this decision.
