On February 22, 2023, the HACC found Oleksandr Trukhin, former MP,  guilty of attempting to bribe police officers. He offered money in exchange for leaving the scene of the accident unhindered. Trukhin pleaded guilty and was fined UAH 68,000, and under the terms of the agreement transferred more than UAH 6 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the end of August 2021, Trukhin's car was involved in an accident on the Boryspil highway. Six people and three cars were damaged. It turned out to be a high-profile case: not because of the accident, but because about 30 media outlets mysteriously removed the news about the incident involving Trukhin. Already in February 2022, Ukrainska Pravda published a video from the scene of the car crash.

The recording showed that Trukhin asked the police officer to “let me go quietly to the forest” and offered him to get “150,000” from a sports bag in the trunk. He also assured that he would talk to Denys Monastyrskyi, the then-head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. After the news from journalists, Trukhin was expelled from the Servant of the People party.

Trukhin was charged with Article 369, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He concluded a plea agreement, was fined UAH 68,000 and pledged to transfer more than UAH 6 million to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Subsequently, he submitted his resignation from the parliamentary mandate, and the Verkhovna Rada approved the termination of his mandate.
