On May 29, 2024, the HACC found Vitalii Sukhovych, member of the Rivne Regional Council, guilty of unlawful enrichment. He pleaded guilty and concluded a deal with the prosecutor, so the court imposed a 3-year probationary period on him.

Vitalii Sukhovych was a member of the Rivne Regional Council, deputy chairman of the Regional Council's Standing Committee on Ecology and Land Relations, and head of the Rivne Regional Forestry and Hunting Department.

According to the investigation, he acquired almost UAH 109 million, which exceeds his legal income by more than UAH 98 million and did not indicate this in his 2020 declaration. During a search in November 2023, more than USD 1.8 million, more than EUR 1 million, and more than UAH 1.5 million were found in his possession. 

Sukhovych pleaded guilty in court and concluded an agreement with the SAPO prosecutor. He was charged with Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 3 years of probation instead of 5 years in prison. At the same time, UAH 98 million was confiscated from him.
