Case description
The HACC found Hennadii Moliboha, head of the Druzhkivka City Court, and Vasyl Yahupets, prosecutor at the Kramatorsk Local Prosecutor's Office, guilty of extortion and bribery. They were sentenced to 7.5 and 4.5 years in prison, respectively.
According to the investigation, in December 2017, a prosecutor from the Kramatorsk Local Prosecutor's Office approached the head of the Druzhkivka City Court with a request to avoid holding two individuals detained for DUI accountable under administrative law.

Acting as an intermediary, the prosecutor delivered a UAH 5,000 bribe to the judge in his office, which was later seized by investigators. Additionally, during the investigation of another criminal case, NABU detectives uncovered that Judge Moliboha had failed to declare cars he had purchased and used for personal purposes over several years.
Hennadii Moliboha’s actions were classified under Article 368, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, while Vasyl Yahupets’ actions fell under Article 369, Part 3. They were sentenced to 7.5 years and 4.5 years in prison, respectively. The court also ordered the confiscation of Moliboha's property and imposed a two-year ban on him holding public office.
