Case description
Oleksandr Derevynskyi, the head of a village in the Kyiv region, and his accomplice Andrii Hrynevych are accused of taking USD 90,000 in bribes. The latter was sentenced in absentia, and the hearings against Derevynskyi were suspended due to his mobilization into the AFU.
According to law enforcement officers, Derevynskyi, head of Myrotske village, with the mediation of Hrynevych, demanded a bribe from another person for a promise to approve a detailed plan of the territory of a 90-hectare estate residential development and facilitate the signing of the relevant decision by the village council.
As a result, the court seized the property of Derevynskyi and his wife, put Hrynevych on the international wanted list, and arrested him in absentia. The village head got mobilized into the Armed Forces, so the court suspended the hearing of the prosecution against him.
